Join us for the unveiling of Chinese Chorizo, a striking art installation inspired by the resilient communities of Phoenix’s historic redlined districts. On display at Eastlake Park, this artwork features two large Chinese Chorizo-shaped awnings, adorned with silhouetted imagery drawn from the stories of local residents who have been impacted by heat injustice.

Chinese Chorizo celebrates these bonds, illustrating eight curated stories of resilience from the surrounding community. During the unveiling, three oral stories from the original storytellers will be shared, with their voices playing alongside the artwork. This installation blends history, culture, and community, reflecting the enduring strength of Phoenix’s redlined neighborhoods.
