Why The Desert Tortoise?
Native to Arizona and the Southwest, the Desert Tortoise has an abundance of tricks up its sleeve – from holding water for up to a year to survive heavy drought, to digging burrows into the earth to escape the heat and sharing its shelter with other desert creatures. The Burrow takes inspiration from this master of adaptation, teaching us how we, too, can create and share the shade within our own community.
