Kira Dominguez Hultgren: Nana’s Garden Unveiling & Dia del Niño Event

Join us for a vibrant community celebration at the Maryvale Park Community Center, where the rich tradition of tejido (weaving) takes center stage. On Dia del Niño (Children’s Day), this event will bring together families, local artists, and residents to explore and interact with the beautiful, handcrafted textile artwork created by Kira Dominguez Hultgren.

Experience the stunning tejido artwork displayed along the backstop fence, and explore the tejido exhibition at the Maryvale Community Center. During the event, experience an interactive activity table hosted by local artists. Children and adults alike are invited to engage with the art by crafting their own handheld mini-awnings using crochet, yarn, fabric, bioplastics, and paper. These creations can be woven temporarily into the fence, taken home, or used for shade during the event.

The event will feature music, food, and a festive atmosphere. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with neighbors, celebrate local creativity, and make lasting memories—especially for the children of Maryvale!

Please note: By attending this event, you are entering an area where photography, audio and video recording may occur.
